Measuring Tips

A digital measuring calliper is not essential. A metric ruler will do the job perfectly well and can even be used to measure thread pitch, at a pinch.

Thread size ideally needs to be measured with a thread pitch guage. Some axles have the thread size marked on them. UDH rear axles are M12x1.0.

Tolerances will be taken care of for you. For example, a 12mm axle will measure just under 12mm in diameter so that it slides through the frame and hub easily.

If you are not sure about taking measurements yourself, ask a bike shop to help you. Measurements to be entered in millimetres and must be as accurate as possible.

If you're really not sure and need some help, please get in touch.

Material Choice

7075 Aluminum $ - Super strong and lightweight. Note: Finish is raw, right off the machine. Raw aluminum can dull over time, but will remain strong and reliable.

Stainless steel $$ - A solid upgrade if you are concerned about strength.

Grade 5 Titanium $$$ - Incredibly strong, lightweight and resistant to corrosion.

How long will it take?

So, how do I do this?

Step 1: Measure the part you need a copy of. If you need help, see measuring tips below.

Step 2: Check your part looks similar to the one in the picture. If not, browse others in the Bolt Wizard menu.

Step 3: Select the options that match your part and enter the dimensions shown in the picture.

Step 4: Tell us the bike you have, so we can build a database that may help other customers in the future.

Step 5: Upload a clear photo of the part in question, to help avoid any mistakes.
